De Sa: It’s Individual Errors…

Platinum Stars’ head coach, Roger De Sa, says that individual errors are costing his side as their run of six away games without a win continued over the weekend.

Dikwena led twice against league leaders, Baroka, on Sunday afternoon as they searched for their first victory away from home since last season, but Robin Ngalande’s 88th-minute goal meant that they went back to Bafokeng with only one point rather than three.

“It’s frustrating…”, De Sa said in a press release. “How many times should we have won? You don’t mind being beaten fair and square, you come back and try to do it. But when it’s there and you don’t do it, it’s frustrating.

“Our decision making needs to be better in both attack and defence. It’s individual errors. That’s the problem. It’s the mistakes that are hurting us. We can see that and we speak about it. We need to get that right. A win will come. In most games since I have been at Platinum Stars, we should have won.  We may not have won but we have been performing. That’s a good sign. A win will come.”

Despite the positives, he still admits that the draw feels like a defeat in the circumstances, and plans to try and fix things before taking on Polokwane City next Wednesday.

He said, “It does feel like a loss because of the way the game went. Playing a team on top of the log away from home it was a good result. It’s just the way it was achieved that is disappointing. The goals came from our mistakes. We will work on it. We will continue to try and improve. We will try and coach. It’s a coaching job. Now we have to teach our players to be better. That’s it.”

Dikwena are currently joint-bottom of the Absa Premiership and only sit above Bidvest Wits on goal difference.
