Although they’re sitting at position 11 on the Absa Premiership table, Ajax Cape Town coach, Roger De Sa, says his target is to accumulate 30 points come end of the season.
De Sa revealed that he aims to get the points as soon as possible despite recent results. The Urban warriors mentor is confident that his team will achieve their target and long-term goal of a top eight place at the end of the season.
The former Orlando Pirates coach said at the start of his tenure at Ajax Cape Town that he targeted seven points from his first three games.
“Despite recent results, it’s time to get back on track. The reason why I targeted getting to the thirty-point mark as quick as possible is that, once you get to thirty points you no longer in the relegation battle, then we can concentrate on fighting for a top eight position. It’s important for us to get to that thirty-point mark as quick as possible to take the pressure off the players and for them to play more freely,” said De Sa.
With seven games to go before they wrap their current league campaign, the Ikamva-based outfit have scored 28 points from 23 games.
Their next game is against Mpumalanga Black Aces at Athlone Stadium on the Friday, March 28.
