De Sa Expects Wits Fight As He Heads Back
Roger De Sa Expects Bidvest Wits To Come Out Fighting
For years Roger de Sa was Mr Bidvest Wits, but this weekend he travels there as the head coach of Platinum Stars and is keen to heap more misery on his former employers.
De Sa spent time with the Clever Boys as both a player and as head coach – as well as many other roles but will be focused on making sure that he leaves Bidvest Stadium with three points on Saturday evening as Dikwena closes off 2017.
Stars were on a six-game unbeaten run in the Absa Premiership before losing to Kaizer Chiefs 1-0 over the weekend, and now they come up against fellow-strugglers, Wits, to try and avoid finishing the year sitting rock bottom of the log.
De Sa knows that it will be a battle against a Clever Boys side that, despite their current form, are the reigning champions in the league and fresh off the back of a Telkom Knockout victory.
He said in a press release this weekend, “It’s an important game for both teams I think, we mustn’t lose. We want to finish on a high before we go on a break.
“Obviously if we get three points it will be great, we have got to try and do as best as we can so we can finish on a high. Wits are trying to fight to get out of where they are, so we have got to expect fighting Wits. We have to be up for it.”
The two teams will go head-to-head on Saturday night at 20h15.
