New Ajax Cape Town forward Eleazar Rodgers has spoken to the Siya crew about the biggest challenge facing Khama Billiat as he starts life at Mamelodi Sundowns.
Billiat moved to Sundowns in a swap deal that saw Rodgers going to Ajax on a year-long loan. Both players recently spoke to the Siya crew about how they are enjoying things in their respective new environments.
When asked about how the Zimbabwean should handle himself at Chloorkop, the striker said, “Khama was a star player at Ajax and that was good for him. He was consistent, so he’ll find himself at Sundowns with a lot of good players who are also performing consistently. I think the challenge will be to accept that when he’s not in the team he needs to be strong and wait for his chance and be ready to take it.”
Rodgers continued, “The competition is tough there and I wish he can be strong, whether he gets game time or not. For some to get that opportunity is easy, while for some it takes longer. But I have no doubt he’s a good player and he will fit into the team. But it will depend on how long it takes for him to find his feet.”
