Former Ajax Cape Town goalkeeper, Sean Roberts, has signed a short-term contract with NFD side, Chippa United.
The 31-year-old shot-stopper has endured a difficult time with the Urban Warriors of late, often being overlooked in favour of Sander Westerveld before the Dutchman retired, and then having to play second fiddle to Anssi Jaakkola this season.
However, with the ‘keeper’s Ajax contract due to expire in June, the experienced Roberts has managed to secure his clearance from Ikamva, going on to land a short-term deal with Chippa as they hope to use his experience to gain promotion back to the PSL.
Roberts, who was only given 90 minutes of football this season up to now, will now be hoping to get his career back on track with the Chilli Boys, helping them secure a PSL return along the way.
While the ‘keeper has joined Chippa until the end of this season, should they manage to gain promotion, then he may look to extend his stay with the club in July.
