Malawi’s star midfielder, Robert Ng’ambi, has been ruled out of this weekend’s African Cup of Nations qualifier against Chad on Sunday.
The 27-year-old, who was in impressive form for Platinum Stars this past season, will miss the game due to an ankle ligament strain, but will be confident that his side can finish the job.
The Flames beat Chad 2-0 in the first leg at home, but will no doubt face some stiff competition from their opposition in the second leg.
Malawi were without Ng’ambi for the first game, and will no doubt be keen to put in an equally good performance without him when they take on Chad at 17h00 on Sunday evening.
Meanwhile, two of Ng’ambi’s Dikwena teammates will be in AFCON action this weekend, with Mogakolodi Ngele and Kabelo Dambe both seeking to help Botswana beat Burundi in their qualifying game.
