Kaizer Chiefs defender, Keegan Ritchie, is back in training and is making a good recovery from injury.
The 23-year-old recently picked up a minor ankle injury while training with the Amakhosi, and the Siya crew reported that he was being rested by head coach, Stuart Baxter.
However, the crew have since been informed that the left-back is on the road to recovery, and while he is still being monitored by the club’s medical team, he is back in training with the rest of his teammates.
With Tsepo Masilela fully recovered from the knee operation that he underwent at the end of last season, it seems unlikely that Ritchie will break into Baxter’s first team this season, although he is deemed to be sufficient back-up to the Bafana Bafana full-back should be pick up any injuries or suspensions.
Baxter has a relatively small team at his disposal this season and will be eager to have his whole squad available to him as often as possible.
Meanwhile, Morgan Gould is also recovering well, with Jimmy Jambo now training with the first team 50% of the time as he also looks to get back to full fitness.
