Memela became a free agent after parting ways with Usuthu at the end of last season, but has now remained in the province to join DStv Premiership debutants.
The 34-year-old was named AmaZulu's Players' Player of the Year for the 2021/2022 campaign and ended the season as top scorer with nine goal across all competitions.
The KZN side also confirmed that Ketleho "KG" Maphathe will captain the side for the 2022/2023 campaign.
The Natal Rich Boyz will open their DStv Premiership campaign against Golden Arrows at the Princes Magogo Stadium on Saturday.
