Revealed: Why Middendorp Subbed Chiefs Man
Ernst Middendorp has explained why he took Teenage Hadebe off for the second half as Kaizer Chiefs got a big win on Saturday.
The Zimbabwean has been a regular for the Amakhosi of late, though Middendorp decided to switch things around in the second 45 against Highlands Park with the introduction of Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya.
The youngster got an assist just moments later, justifying the German’s decision to change things up.
He told the club’s official website, “Teenage has been doing well for us at the back, however he had a few nervy moments in this game, and I thought that bringing on Ntiya-Ntiya would make a difference.
“We select the best team for each match... We watch the players during training and, accordingly, decide on the starting line-up. I’m happy with the result and, above all, with the three points collected.”
Next up for Chiefs is a game with Maritzburg United as they fight for their lives at the foot of the Absa Premiership table.
