Mamelodi Sundowns defender, Rashid Sumaila, is still holding out for a European move, with reports indicating that an offer has come in for his services from a team in Turkey.
The Ghanaian international, who was in the Black Stars side that participated in 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, has since the latter stages of last season been linked with a move abroad, with Russia touted as his possible destination.
He started 17 league games for Pitso Mosimane’s side last season and contributed to their eventual league triumph. If news coming out of Ghana are anything to go by, his days at Chloorkop could be numbered.
Sumaila is yet to be registered by Downs for the new season, perhaps because of the likelihood that he may be on his way to Europe.
Negotiations with an unnamed Turkish side are said to have begun in earnest, with the player keen to further his career abroad. It is expected that the issue of his future will be finalised by the weekend.
