Orlando Pirates coach Roger de Sa heaped praise on his troops after their 1-1 draw against Kaizer Chiefs as they booked their place in the MTN8 final.
De Sa believes that his players showed real character to work as hard as they did after a draining 0-0 draw with Al Ahly in the CAF Champions League on Sunday.
The Sea Robbers won the first-leg 1-0 away to Chiefs, meaning that their 1-1 draw at the Orlando Stadium was enough for them to go through with a 2-1 aggregate win.
"Very tough as expected. Going a goal down we really had to dig deep," said De Sa. "And we did. I think we fought hard and we competed well. We can't ask more from the players. They just ran and ran and ran...
"To do this - two games, against Al Ahly and Chiefs, within 24 hours - I think the players were fantastic.
"We were a little bit too relaxed at times. We just waited for them to come at us. We should have gone at them more maybe. But with the personnel we chose it wasn't going to happen.
"When Sifiso (Myeni) came in I think we started to play a lot more, and that was important for us.
"I'm glad, I'm just happy with it from everybody. I thought that this game was about character, especially with the game we had 24 hours ago. It was just about digging deep and we showed we can do it."
