Bafana Bafana will go into Sunday’s 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Ethiopia on the back of a confidence boosting 3-0 win over Central African Republic (CAR), with a view of bagging all three points in East Africa.
Last weekend Gordon Igesund’s side defeated CAR in Cameroon, in their respective World Cup qualifier, as Bafana got their qualifying campaign back on track. This weekend they will face the CAF Group A leaders in Addis Ababa, where a win will see them leapfrog their opponents into first place in the group.
Following Bafana’s three goals in Cameroon, striker Tokelo Rantie is confident that they can carry their goal scoring form into Sunday’s crucial tie. He said that as a team, they have the belief to overcome Ethiopia.
“We want to win this game. We will win this game. As strikers we need to score goals and we have been very hard at training working on that. As a team, as well, we need to score goals and that's what we are going to do come Sunday. The key to scoring goals is creating as many chances as possible and converting most of those chances.
“I am confident though that we are going to win on Sunday. I have that gut feeling. The whole team is confident and we are going to do it,” the Sweden-based Rantie stated.
