Chiefs Star Highlights Importance Of Pre-Season
Ramahlwe Mphahlele says that Kaizer Chiefs players are working hard as they get their preparations underway for the 2018/19 Absa Premiership season.
‘Rama’ battled with injury at Chiefs in their last campaign as he made just 11 appearances in the league, however, he missed just one game in his debut season after leaving Mamelodi Sundowns, and will be eager to return to that kind of form under the new head coach.
Patrick Mabedi is currently putting the team through their paces as the club continues their hunt for Steve Komphela’s successor, and their full back believes it’s important to get off to a good start.
He told the club’s official website, “Having a good pre-season is the foundation for the season… Everybody is working hard to get in shape.”
When asked about his own personal off-season, ‘Rama’ said, “I regularly went to the gym, working a lot on core.”
Meanwhile, the former Mamelodi Sundowns star also gave his take on the current World Cup, revealing who he’s backing in Russia. He explained, “I am little distraught right now because my team, Germany, went out on Wednesday night. Luckily the other team I support, Spain, is still hanging in there.”
Mphahlele is now joined at Naturena by two former Sundowns teammates – Leonardo Castro and Khama Billiat – as the trio look to bring the good times back to Naturena.
