SuperSport United coach Kaitano Tembo has revealed that Thabo Qalinge could be added to his squad roster as early as this Sunday.
The former Orlando Pirates attacker has been training with Matsatsantsa for several weeks now after leaving the Buccaneers at the end of his contract, making him a free agent. His current status means ‘Section 10’ can actually join any team even long after the current transfer window has been slammed shut.
But Tembo indicated to the Siya crew that SuperSport are eager to get a deal over the line to give his team more options in attack.
“We are still talking behind the scenes and something will done or announced before Sunday in fact,” the coach said.
“I am happy with him and we are definitely going to make an announcement. There is no rush because he is out of contract. He is a free agent. But I think before the end of this week we should be able to make an announcement about him. He has been doing well at training for us.”
SuperSport face Bidvest Wits in the quarterfinals of the MTN8 on Sunday and it looks likely that Qalinge could sign in time to make his debut then.
