Mpumalanga Black Aces started this season’s PSL Relegation/Promotion Play-offs on a high note, with a win against Chippa United, and will look to continue with their run tonight when they play Santos.
Amazayoni were favourites to win automatic promotion to the PSL for the better part of their 2012/13 NFD campaign, however qualified for the play-offs in the end. Some disappointing results in the second half of the season put the team’s hopes on hold.
Jacob Sakala and his team know that a win against Santos at the Cape Town Stadium tonight will take them a step closer to the PSL.
Aces’ midfielder Thabo Qalinge told the Siya crew that his team is aiming for a few more wins, despite the advantage they have in the play-offs at the moment.
“We prepared well for this game and all we came to Cape Town for is to play good football. Obviously, we want to win and the only way to achieve that is by trying hard. The guys are motivated for the game. The mood is high after our win against Chippa.
“We are taking it one game at a time. Everyone’s focus is in tonight’s game. We are at an advantage at the moment but we must continue to win to increase our chances,” said Qalinge.
