Two Dark Horses To Edge PSL Giants To Q1?
Q1 Of The PSL Q-Innovation To Be Decided
Two clubs that that appear to be the league’s dark horses are in good position to edge PSL giants to the Q1 prize of this season’s Q-Innovation.
Baroka FC and Golden Arrows, who have been impressive this season, have a chance of beating the league’s big guns to the Q1 prize. Baroka and Arrows are the only two teams in the league that are yet to lose a match this season.
The two teams are sitting in first and second position respectively on the Absa Premiership log. Baroka are at the summit of the PSL log with 15 points from four wins and three draws from their seven matches.
In second place, Arrows are on 13 points from three wins and four draws from their seven matches. Each PSL team that wins a quarter of the Q-Innovation is rewarded with R1.5 million in prize money from the league.
The PSL’s Q-Innovation is divided into Q1 (8 games), Q2 (7 games), Q3 (8 games) and Q4 (7 games). Interestingly, Baroka and Arrows will face each other when the PSL resume after the FIFA international break.
Bakgaga are scheduled to host Abafana Bes’thende at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on October 18 for the eighth match for each of the two teams to finish the first quarter.
