It’s Monday, which means it’s time for the top 10 Tweets of the Week from South African football.

Bafana Bafana midfielder Dean Furman took to Twitter after the nation’s 4-1 win over Botswana during, in which he scored his first international goal.

@de4no22: “Thanks for all the great messages and support!Today was a very proud moment for both me and my family. Hopefully the 1st of many for Bafana.”

However, he did express his disappointment at not making it to the World Cup.

@de4no22: “Hugely bittersweet feeling this evening with us not qualifying for the playoffs but we must continue to progress & build for the future!”

Meanwhile Darren Keet, who was watching from the stands, offered his kind words to the Doncaster Rovers man.

Before the game SuperSport United winger Sameehg Doutie was one of many players backing Gordon Igesund’s men.

And afterwards talented young South African Ayanda Patosi got behind the team.

Racing Genk defender Anele Ngcongca tweeted as he boarded his flight to Mzansi from Amsterdam.

While Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Willard Katsande was happy to be on international duty with Zimbabwe.

Unfortunately the biggest news of the weekend came out of the Bafana camp before Saturday’s game.

@bafana_bafana1: “Thulani Serero has been released from Bafana Bafana camp due to disciplinary reasons. Igesund will only comment after match tomorrow.”

And SuperSport United winger, Clifford Mulenga, linked it to when he was asked to leave the Zambian camp last year.

Orlando Pirates’ in-form striker, Lennox Bacela, spoke of the big week ahead for the Buccaneers.
