It’s Monday, which means it’s time for the top 10 Tweets of the Week from South African football. 

It was a busy weekend in the world of South African football and twitter was abuzz  with the Nedbank Cup final on Saturday and the Premiership Soccer League Awards on Sunday.

Just before Saturday's Nedbank Cup final PSL CEO Brand De Villiers summed up the event, tweeting:

@branddevilliers: Nedbank Cup Final day, 50000 supporters in stadium, 9 million SA viewers on TV, last game of the season!

After Orlando Pirates beat Bidvest Wits 3-1 in the final, Twitter was full of congratulations for the Buccaneers.

Former Orlando Pirates star Andile Jali tweeted:

@andilejali870: Back to Africa next year boys good job once and always black is back to Africa.

Minister of Sport Fikile Mbalula sent out his congratulations to Pirates:

@MbalulaFikile: Up the bucs !!! Congratulations to Orlando Pirates for winning keyona cup . U are the deserving champs ,sorry Wits next time.

After the game an elated Thandi Ntshumayelo tweeted just one word:

@RealNtshumayelo: Champs...

Lehlohonolo Majoro, who only recently joined the Buccaneers sent out:

@BalloJoro: God’s plan never fails - gold medal.

On Sunday the highlight of the PSL Awards was Bidvest Wits’ Sibusiso Vilakazi walking away with both the Player’s Player of the Season and the PSL Footballer of the Season awards. 

Hlompho Kekana, who won for the best goal of the season, tweeted:

Kaizer Chiefs defender Tefu Mashamaite congratulated Vilakazi:

Teko Modise, himself a nominee on the night, took to Twitter to congratulate Vilakazi and also tried to put a stop to those criticising the award winners:

@Donadoni10: Come on guys let's stop wit politics, Sbu vilakazi deserves it he had a fantastic season and we should be happy for him...coz I am

After winning the Telkom Knockout Player of the tournament Mogakolodi Ngele, who was unable to attend because of international duty, tweeted:

@tsotsongele: Thanks for your support guys :-) Glory to God. corinthians 9:24-27

Minister Mbalula, who was at the event, summed up the night, tweeting:

@MbalulaFikile: This event is spectacular, befitting to those who have been toiling throughout the year.
