Ajax Cape Town got back on the winning trail with a 2-1 victory over SuperSport United in their Absa Premiership clash on Saturday.
The visitors were off to a flying start as they took the lead in only the sixth minute. A defensive error at SuperSport's far post gave Toriq Losper the chance to net the opener after Bantu Mzwakali provided him with the ball.
Ajax didn't create many chances but they converted one of them in the 28th minute to double their lead. Mosa Lebusa played it on for Erwin Isaacs who did well to round Ronwen Williams and place the ball in the back of the net.
Matsatsantsa coach Gordon Igesund attempted to influence the flow of the game with a double substitution in the 33rd minute. Mothusi Gopane and Thabo September came off and were replaced by Bradley Grobler and David Mathebula.
SuperSport pulled one back 10 minutes into the second half to get themselves back into the encounter. The substitution seemed to be the correct decision as Grobler was the one who provided the assist with a cross that Thuso Phala netted.
United put the pressure on Ajax as they went in search of an equaliser, but the Cape Town outfit held on for the three points.
