Result: Amazulu 3-1 Wits
Date: 10 March 2015
Venue: Moses Mabhida Stadium
AmaZulu's unbeaten streak continued on Tuesday as they collected all three points in a 3-1 win over Bidvest Wits in the Absa Premiership.
The hosts opened the scoring in the 19th minute. They won a free kick after a foul by Jabulani Shongwe on Goodman Dlamini and the set-piece was struck by Marc van Heerden, but hit the wall. After the rebound, Mbulelo Mabizela pounced on the ball and provided the finish.
Usuthu's lead was doubled on the stroke of half-time. A flowing passage of play saw Bongi Ntuli send the ball across the face of goal before Dlamini slotted it to make it 2-0.
The result was virtually secured five minutes into the second half as AmaZulu surged three goals clear. Ntuli turned scorer as he deftly rounded Moeneeb Josephs before sliding the ball into the back of the net.
Wits pulled a goal back on the hour mark as Papy Faty unleashed a venomous strike from 25 yards out that bulged the AmaZulu net, but the hosts held on to their two-goal lead to grab the victory.
The win sees bottom-of-the-table AmaZulu close the gap on 15th-placed Moroka Swallows to three points.
