Despite much talk over the potential winner of this season’s Q-Innovation quarters, the PSL say that not even Q1 has been completed yet.
It was reported that Mamelodi Sundowns had all but claimed victory in the first quarter of the initiative, though it has now been revealed that that is not the case.
Regarding Q1, it is SuperSport United, that currently top the league on 15 points, though they are only ahead of Moroka Swallows and Kaizer Chiefs on goal difference.
Meanwhile, Sundowns sit in fourth place (14 points) with a game still to play, and Orlando Pirates are in 13 with seven points, though they could still claim the Q1 title if they win all of their four games in hand.
Matters are much closer to being finalised in Q2, with Chiefs (on 15 points) currently topping the table ahead of Wits, though both teams have a game still to play.
A win in Chiefs’ final game of Q2 would see them claim the prize for that quarter, with Wits (13 points) the only team capable of catching them.
