The PSL has provided their latest update on the matter involving Ajax Cape Town’s Tendai Ndoro.

Prior to their match against AmaZulu last night, Ajax brought an urgent application in the High Court for an interdict against Tendai Ndoro’s 'ineligibility to play' matter that is now with FIFA, as referred to them by SAFA’s arbitration.

However, yesterday afternoon, the Gauteng High Court dismissed Ndoro and Ajax’s application. The PSL has since issued a statement confirming that they welcome the court’s judgment on the matter.

PSL welcomes Court Judgment on the Ndoro and Ajax Cape Town matter

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) welcomes yesterday’s decision of the Gauteng Local Division of the High Court, Johannesburg, in the matter between the National Soccer League, Ajax Cape Town, Mr Tendai Ndoro and Others.

Ajax Cape Town and Mr Ndoro brought an urgent application to interdict the League from implementing the outcomes of the Arbitration. The Arbitrator had ruled that the Dispute Resolution Chamber had no jurisdiction to rule on the matter of Mr Ndoro.

The High Court yesterday afternoon dismissed Ndoro’s and Ajax Cape Town’s application.

The League has insisted all along that it is FIFA Players’ Status Committee that has jurisdiction to determine Ndoro’s eligibility to play in the current season.

The Judge, Justice Sutherland, agreed with the view that as things stand on the matter, there is no ‘lawful structure’ that has expressed a view on whether Mr Ndoro is eligible to play or not, again re-affirming the position of the League.

The League also distances itself from comments made by Ajax Cape Town alleging that the League, through their Senior Counsel in court, had made a commitment on the nature of the outcome of the matter including the decision on whether there will be points deducted or not from the Member Club.

@Ruud-Krol(mugabel), what you are saying is purely academic. Your argument does not hold water.

@setlaboswana as far as I know it's the PSL that brought this matter where it is now not Pirates. When the DRC declared Ndoro as eligible to play the PSL disagreed with the ruling and made it clear that they intend to appeal the ruling. Khoza might be the chairman of the PSL but there are people who are appointed to deal with different matters, Khoza does not deal with each and every issue in the PSL.

What confuses me to this saga is that when you register a player it's done electronically, should the info you loading is against FIFA rules the system will reject the application, that means one thing Ajax cheated the system,if so they must pay the price, because they know the FIFA rules but they decided to bypass them wrongfully

@setladoswana. I meant Ajax should never have played Ndoro this season knowing that they can't officially use him in the current season.

I said it before. The Resolutions Committee should never have sat for this case. They knew it was wrong and even Ajax knew it was wrong but they took their chance which now backfires. The rule is simple and comprehensive. This was suicide

@Ruud-Krol(mugabel), is not Pirates and/or PSL who brought us were we are as far as Ndoro saga is concerned? Is Khoza not chairing the two organisations? Are you trying to separate the man from the organisation he is responsible for?

@Sky Days, from where I am sitting, we have to wait until FIFA makes a determination. It is unnecessary to pre-empt the outcome.
