Maboke Matlakala struck in the 53rd minute as Black Leopards defeated Milano United 2-1 in their Promotion/Relegation playoff clash at the Giyani Stadium.
Leopards now top the three-team table after the win, while Milano are yet to register a win in the playoffs.
The hosts took the lead as early as the eighth minute, as Taariq Fielies deflected Randani Ndou's cross into his own net.
The visitors leveled matters in the 32nd minute, as Fielies redeemed himself and rose highest to head home Milano's equliser.
That was as good as it got in the opening 45 minutes, with the two goals proving to be the only highlights in an otherwise entertaining half.
Wensten Van Der Linde came to Milano's s rescue five minutes after the restart as he got down well to keep out Abubakar at his near post.
Three minutes later and Leopards restored their lead through Matlakala's fine left-footed strike from the edge of the area.
Mokhasi denied Milano when he pulled off a stunning save in the 54th minute to tip Theron's volley over the bar.
Chad Robertson came to Milano's rescue in the 75th minute as he cleared Matlakala's header off the line.
The visitors pushed for an equaliser but Leopards defence held their own in the latter stages of the game.
