MP Black Aces defender Method Mwanjale was quick to thank his teammates and the coach for the effort they put in following his side’s 1-0 win over Kaizer Chiefs in the Absa Premiership on Wednesday night.
Miguel Timm scored in the 94th minute of the match to hand the Mpumalanga side the surprise win.
Mwanjale was handed the ‘Man of the Match’ award for his performance, but was quick to turn the lime-light to coach Clive Barker who gave them the confidence to succeed.
The Aces man also praised the character of his teammates for bouncing back from the 2-1 loss to Bidvest Wits in their outing before the Chiefs match.
“Congratulations to my teammates and to the coach who has been giving us confidence throughout the whole week,” said Mwanjale.
“We lost (our last game) against Wits, but today we came back as a strong side and I really appreciate the effort that the guys put in. I say thank-you to them.”
Mwanjale added that his side were always confident they could snatch a late win.
“We were always confident. When we came into the game tonight, we knew somewhere, somehow they are going to lapse in the last minutes and that’s when we got that goal,” added Mwanjale.
“Teamwork worked for us tonight.”
