“Wonderful! Marvellous!” were the first words form MP Black Aces coach Clive Barker following his side’s 1-0 win over Kaizer Chiefs in an Absa Premiership match on Wednesday night.
Miguel Timm scored in the 94th minute of the match to hand the Mpumalanga side the surprise win.
“What a performance? They hang in there, they (Chiefs) had big periods when they were on top, they had lots of chances, but in the end, to hang in and squeeze something out of it like we did, it is fantastic for the team, fantastic for the owners, fantastic for the supporters,” added Barker.
The Aces coach, though, admitted he was not entirely happy with his team’s performance and had to give them a scolding at half time.
“I thought there would be more goals I must confess. I was a little disappointed with both sides in the first half, it was a bit pedestrian and I gave them (my team) a bollocking,” said Barker.
“If it hadn’t have been for the last 15 minutes before half time you would have heard from me tonight exactly how poor I thought our performance was, and I said (at half time) get your finger out your arse.
“It worked out well for us in the end and I am happy for everybody.
“We have got a lot of points against a lot of big sides.”
