Big Accolades For SA & Namibian Internationals At PSL Newcomers Ceremony

PSL Newcomers Reward Their Stars

A South African and a Namibian international received top accolades at the PSL newcomers’ awards ceremony last night.

Following their promotion from the NFD to the PSL, after an impressive 2017/18 campaign for the team, Highlands Park have wasted no time in rewarding their players for their hard work this past season. 

Bafana Bafana’s Mothobi Mvala has walked away with the club’s Player of the Season award, while Namibian international forward, Peter Shalulile, received the club’s Players’ Player of the Year award.

Mvala, who has been called up to Stuart Baxter’s Bafana Bafana squad for the upcoming 2018 COSAFA Cup tournament, has also walked away with the Player of the Season accolade, as the champions opted for two winners in this category after their impressive promotion-winning season.

Shalulile, 24, finished the season as the top goalscorer in the NFD with his 15 strikes for the Lions of the North.

All the winners have been confirmed on the club’s social media accounts.

Highlands Park FC rolled out the red carpet for the 2017/18 NFD season Champions at the Linksfield Mo-zam-bik Restaurant last night, acknowledging & giving recognition to all players who contributed to the team's stellar performance in the season.

Congratulations to all the winners and to the entire club for the wonderful season in the NFD and the great return to the Premier League.

The Categories Were:

*Player's player of the Year [Peter Shalulile]

*Player Of The Year [Mothobi Mvala]

*Top Goal Scorer [Peter Shalulile]

*Young Player Of The Season [Sphiwe Mahlangu]

*Chairman's Award [Tapuwa Kapini]

Please Sinky do not make mistake of signing reject players and pay them fat salaries like you did in the likes of Collins Mbesuma and Surprise Moriri and others at the end they did not help the team after all. Keep your soldiers who fought through thick and thin and let them enjoy the top flights of the PSL with the technical team who worked hard to make sure that you get promotion again

To Owners of the Highlands Park and Technical Team, I believe you all learnt the lesson after you get relagated in the last of last season. Now, its a wake up plea that, do not look down players who fought high and low for this team. Do not sign rejects players from fellow PSL teams. These players who contributed to the team's great run for 2017/18 season MUST be given chance to shine in the PSL.
