Polokwane City and Free State Stars played out to a 1-1 draw at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in an ABSA Premiership bottom-of-the-table clash on Saturday night.
With both teams having an opportunity to pull away from the relegation zone, neither rose to the occasion as Luyolo Nomandela cancelled out Puleng Tlolane's goal.
Almost all the chances of the first half came in the opening ten minutes, with the first chance falling to the visitors as Themba Tshabalala’s header went over the goal in the third minute.
In the seventh minute Thobani Mncwango had an effort at goal, but it went wide to the right.
In the tenth minute Vukile Mngqibisa had a chance for the home team, but his shot was easily dealt with by Tshepo Motsoeneng.
With chances few and far between the sides went into halftime with the score goalless.
Early in the second Luyolo Nomandela and then Moeketsi Sekola had chances to score but both missed the target.
Nomandela had another chance in the 74th minute but it again it went wide.
Polokwane City grabbed the lead in the 76th minute through substitute Puleng Tlolane, their top-scorer this season, who made no mistake to make it 1-0.
But their lead was short-lived, and just two minutes later Nomandela scored with a left-footed shot to level matters, and the score remained 1-1 when the final whistle blew.
