The PSL has confirmed that Platinum Stars and the club’s influential midfielder, Thuso Phala, have been charged with contravening law 4 of the FIFA laws of the game after the player revealed a slogan on his shirt while celebrating a goal scored against Mamelodi Sundowns on April 14. They will appear before the PSL’s DC on June 04.
In his celebration, Phala lifted his jersey and showed a ‘Happy Birthday Bash’ message on the shirt underneath after he scored the equaliser against Sundowns in the quarterfinal of the Nedbank Cup.
The league has also confirmed cases involving a few NFD clubs including FC AK and Jomo Cosmos. FC AK have been charged with fielding a suspended player, Ntuthuko Siyanda Dlamini, who had accumulated four cautions in matches prior to the fixture against United FC on March 20. FC AK will appear before the PSL’s DC on June 04.
Meanwhile Jomo Cosmos have been charged with contravening Rule 12.5 of the NSL Rules in their fixture against Sivutsa Stars on April 24 after their goalkeeper wore a jersey without the league’s sponsor logo.
Cosmos will appear before the PSL’s DC on June 04. Cosmos have also been charged with contravening the football manual after they submitted their team sheet late in their fixture against FC Cape Town at the NNK Stadium on May 04.
They will appear before the PSL’s DC on June 04. Dynamos have been charged with contravening Rule 8.9.1 for failing to have a team doctor in attendance in their fixture against Mpumalanga Black Aces on May 12 at the Giyani Stadium.
