PSL DC Outcome On NFD Matters

The PSL Disciplinary Committee has delivered rulings on a number of NFD matters. Below is the summary.

Witbank Spurs FC:The club was charged with their failure to honour a scheduled NFD fixture against Roses United at the Botshabelo Stadium on 15 September 2012.

The PSL DC ruled that the match should be declared a forfeit. The match was awarded to Roses United FC with a 3-0 goal difference. The club was sentenced to a R50 000.00 fine, suspended in its entirety for 12 months on condition that Witbank Spurs FC  is not found guilty of failing to honour a fixture for a period of 12 months. The suspension relates only to fixtures after 22 May 2013. Witbank Spurs FC is also to pay the costs of the hearing.

Blackburn Rovers and Jomo Cosmos: The two clubs were charged with their failure to honour a scheduled fixture between each other at Sinaba Stadium.

Jomo Cosmos applied for a postponement but their application was turned down by the PSL DC. The fixture was annulled. There will be no replay, no points or any benefits to flow from match. Both clubs were each sentenced to a R50 000.00 fine, suspended in its entirety for 12 months on condition that the clubs are not found guilty of failing to honour a fixture for a period of 12 months. The suspension relates only to fixtures after 22 May 2013. The clubs were ordered to pay the costs of hearing.

African Warriors and Jomo Cosmos:The two clubs were charged with their failure to honour a scheduled fixture between each other on 15 September 2013 at Charles Mopeli Stadium.

Jomo Cosmos applied for a postponement but their application was turned down by the PSL DC.

The PSL DC ruled that the fixture be annulled in respect of Jomo Cosmos FC. There will be no replay, no points or any benefits to flow from match. Jomo Cosmos was sentenced to a R50 000.00 fine, suspended in its entirety for 12 months on condition that Jomo Cosmos FC is not found guilty of failing to honour a fixture for a period of 12 months. The suspension relates only to fixtures after 22 May 2013. Jomo Cosmos FC was ordered to pay the costs of the hearing.

The matter against African Warriors FC was postponed to 28 May 2013 on compassionate grounds.

FC AK FC:The club was charged with failure to honour a scheduled NFD fixture against Blackburn Rovers at Gelvandale in Port Elizabeth on 31 October 2012.

The PSL DC ruled that the fixture be declared forfeit. The match was awarded to Blackburn Rovers FC with a 3-0 goal difference. FC AK was sentenced to a R25 000.00 fine, suspended in its entirety for 12 months on condition that FCAK FC  is not found guilty of failing to honour a fixture for a period of 12 months. The suspension relates only to fixtures after 22 May 2013. FCAK FC was ordered to pay the costs of the hearing.

FC AK FC: was charged with their failure to honour a scheduled NFD fixture against Witbank Spurs at Eldorado Park on 20 February 2013.

The PSL DC ruled that the match be declared a forfeit. The match was awarded to Witbank Spurs FC with a 3-0 goal difference. FC AK FC was sentenced to a R50 000.00 fine, of which R25 000.00 was suspended in its entirety for 12 months on condition that FCAK FC  is not found guilty of failing to honour a fixture for a period of 12 months. The suspension relates only to fixtures after 22 May 2013. FCAK FC was in addition ordered to pay the costs of the hearing.
