The Premier Soccer League has confirmed that one of Absa Premiership club’s coaches has been charged for contravening the rules.
In absence of Baroka FC head coach Wedson Nyirenda during the team’s matches so far this season, the Zambian mentor’s assistant at the Limpopo outfit, Matsimela Thoka has been in charge of the technical team bench against Cape Town City and Bidvest Wits respectively.
After the match against Wits, which was Baroka’s last match before last weekend’s MTN8 quarter-finals, Thoka failed to attend the mandatory post-match media press conference at Bidvest Stadium.
For his actions, the assistant coach has been charged by the league for contravening the NSL Compliance Manual.
“The Premier Soccer League has charged Baroka FC coach, Thoka Matsimela with contravening the NSL Compliance Manual (Media Manual),” confirmed the PSL in a statement.
“Matsimela failed to attend the mandatory post-match media press conference/mixed zone when Baroka FC played Bidvest Wits on 06 August 2019 at Bidvest Stadium,” the league confirmed.”
