PSL Stars Surface At Kasi World Cup – What Their Clubs Are Saying…

Two Premier Soccer League stars were recently spotted playing in a prestigious amateur tournament dubbed the ‘World Cup of Kasi football’ and their clubs have since responded to this.

The annually held Snekeneke Pre-festive games, which are staged in Snake Park, Soweto gained prominence thanks to its ability to attract the masses from both near and far.

It seems however that a multitude of supporters is not all that the tournament attracts.

A number of current and former PSL players have been spotted in the 2021 edition of the tournament. The likes of former Orlando Pirates midfielder Sifiso Myeni and former Mpumalanga Black Aces midfielder Tshidiso Tukane were among those taking part in the games.

Current players like Jabulani Maluleka and Karabo Tshepe were also spotted playing in matches – and now it appears that they were doing so without the knowledge of their clubs.

The Siya crew reached out to Sekhukhune United and TS Galaxy respectively, both who confirmed that Maluleke, 39, and Tshepe, 32, are both contracted to their respective clubs, although both clubs denied any knowledge of the players’ participation in the tournament.

For Tshepe, he has been on the sidelines nursing a knee injury that he sustained earlier this year, which has largely limited his impact for the Rockets.

Meanwhile for Maluleke, he is yet to feature for coach MacDonald Makhubedu’s side, who have been impressive in their maiden topflight  season.
