Reports emerged in local media this week that an alleged heated bust-up ensued during a training session for AmaZulu between the team’s head coach Cavin Johnson, and striker Rhulani Manzini.

It is believed that a quarrel between the two occurred after the player disliked a request by the coach to improve his work-rate in training.

However, AmaZulu have dismissed the reports, citing that the coach and the player enjoy a good working relationship.

“Coach Cavin Johnson and Rhulani Manzini enjoy a healthy working relationship, as does any other member of the squad at AmaZulu with the technical staff,” AmaZulu’s Media Officer, Brilliant Mkhathini told the club’s official website.

“Claims such as the ones made on the article are totally unfounded, as a club we do not appreciate them, and only we view this as just one of many ways people have resorted to, to try and destabilise AmaZulu this season,” he said.
