Result: Polokwane 3-0 Tuks
Date: 24 November 2013
Venue: Peter Mokaba Stadium
Three first-half goals by Polokwane City was enough to secure a comfortable 3-0 home win over the University of Pretoria at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in their Absa Premiership match.
Polokwane took the lead in the seventh minute through Puleng Tlolane after combining well with Moffat Mdluli to make it 1-0 at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.
Rise and Shine then doubled their lead four minutes later when Essau Kanyenda got on the end of a Modiri Marumo cross to head home and make it 2-0 in favour of the home side.
Kanyenda came close again with just under 20 minutes played but his shot was high and handsome.
Tuks created their first chance of the game in the 35th minute when Khethukuthula Zwane saw his right-footed effort go just wide of Modiri Marumo post.
Rise and Shine then extended their lead in the 42nd minute through a first PSL goal from Botswana player Galabgwe Moyana, who fired a fierce left-footed shot into the top corner from just outside the box.
Tuks did create chances in the first 20 minutes of the second-half as they pushed forward trying to reduce the deficit, but they were let down by their finishing and could not manage to get on the score-sheet.
The hosts then sat back on their lead for the rest of the second-period and easily saw out the rest of the game without being troubled by the visitors from Pretoria and pick up a valuable three-pointer.
