Polokwane City are getting ready to do battle against Kaizer Chiefs on Wednesday night, and the word coming out of their camp is that they will compete.
The club's PRO, Patrick Baloyi, spoke to the crew, saying that as much as Chiefs are a big team, they’re also vulnerable and can be beaten.
“We know they’re dangerous, they beat us with a big margin. We have never won a game against them, but they’re vulnerable and can be beaten. The fact that they scored in the 90th minute against SuperSport United on Saturday says a lot. We’ll go out there and fight, compete and we’ll not just admire them. The only concern is that they’re dangerous in set pieces and we have worked on our short comings. We’re not scared of them especially at this stage of the league.
“We beat Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates at home, so we really want to make it possible against Chiefs as we play at home. We’re not concerned with the fact that we’re underdogs, that tag serves us well. Fortunately the coach has his full squad with no injuries at all. We have to ensure we salvage a point in this one because they’ll want to win and catch Sundowns. On the other hand, we want to move away as Free State Stars is breathing heavily on our necks. All the teams in the top eight struggled when visiting us at home except Wits. Chiefs must also struggle, they must be ready to fight,” said Baloyi
Rise and Shine are placed at position 14 on the Absa Premiership standings 24 points after 26 games. The match gets underway at Peter Mokaba Stadium at 19:30.
