The Siya can confirm that Polokwane City will part ways with goalkeeper, Nkueni Mayala.
The DR Congo-born shot stopper joined Rise and Shine and captained the side in their NFD campaign. The 36-year old keeper did not taste game time in the PSL and has been benched for 28 times.
The crew is informed that the keeper will be released to seek for a football home elsewhere, however, the source did not reveal whether the keeper has been told.
“I think the keeper will be released as he has not seen game time at the club. He’s on his way out and I cannot actually say his age is the factor here but the club will definitely look for a young keeper to assist Modiri Marumo,” revealed the coach.
The source further revealed that the club has not yet identified a suitable replacement for the former Orlando Pirates Kinshasa-born keeper.
Still in the club, on loan defender, Rofhiwa Tshikovhi is also not going to be retained as his loan deal ended. He will be released to return to his club Platinum stars.
The crew will monitor player movements at the Polokwane-based outfit.
