Polokwane City’s top marksman Rodney Ramagalela says the rich goalscoring form he has enjoyed at Rise and Shine is simply a bonus from the hard work and team connection that is within the Limpopo-based club.
The forceful striker has been City’s top goal scorer for the past two seasons and ended the 2017/18 season with 11 league goals.
Speaking to the Siya crew the 29-year-old declared that the goals come as a result of the team spirit among the players and the hard work he puts in.
“The new season is coming up but I’m not focused on being the top goalscorer. I just work hard for my team and the goals come as they do,” explained the 29-year-old hitman.
“As a striker, I’m glad to be scoring goals for my team. That’s the job of a striker is to score goals so one can say I’m simply doing my job. However, if I work hard and play for the team, the goals become a bonus and I’m happy (about) that.
“I will continue to work hard in the new season but I don’t want to say I will score a certain amount of goals. That’s never been my approach to the game. I go in with the mentally of playing for the team and the rest will happen as it happens,” he concluded.
