Rise and Shine are now focusing on their next game against Maritzburg United away on Wednesday evening, and the former Ajax Cape Town midfielder said he’s pleased with the team’s performance so far.
Alexander was voted as the Man of the Match in that encounter, and said credit must go to his teammates for their hard work.
Speaking to the crew, Alexander said they have worked on combinations with Benson Mhlongo and Jabu Maluleke in the middle of the park.
“I’m glad that we’ve won our first game of the season you know and we’re looking forward to facing Maritzburg away. I cannot get carried away by my performances but we need to remain humble and keep working hard as a team.
“Winning the man-of-the-match award was special considering the fact that it was my first game for the club. I need to keep working hard because the season is a marathon. The win against Tuks is now behind us, we have to shift our mind-set to the upcoming game against Maritzburg now. It’s going to be a battle but we’re up for the challenge,” said Alexander.
