Polokwane City Set Their Eyes On United After TKO Defeat
Polokwane City set their sights set on bouncing back from their Telkom Knockout semi-final defeat against Bloemfontein Celtic this past Sunday at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.
Rise and Shine were ousted from the Telkom Knockout Cup semi-finals by Celtic who won the match 4-3 on penalties, following a 1-1scorelinee at the end of regulation time.
"Our focus is now on Maritzburg United and getting the maximum three points," said City's Communications man, Vusi Mthimane.
"This was a historical moment for the club as we have never reached the semi-final stages of the competition before, more especially since we knocked out Orlando Pirates in our road to the semis," he added.
City welcome Marizburg United on Wednesday 22 November and will look to build on their cup performance to gain maximum points against the KZN team to improve on the 12th spot positioning in the PSL table. However, the Limpopo outfit will be without centre back Sibusiso Mbonani who is serving a suspension.
