Rise And Shine Take Aim At Downs, Star Still Frozen Out

Polokwane City take aim at Mamelodi Sundowns in a bid to turn things around, while attempting to avoid a second Absa Premiership loss to the Chloorkop outfit.

Rise and Shine lost to the Brazilians 2-0 during their first round match of the 2018/19 season in August.

With the Limpopo club's captain, Jabulani Maluleke has confidence in his team ahead of the clash scheduled for the Loftus Versveld Stadium this evening.

“We are fine. All is well in camp. It’s a game against a big club in Sundowns and so you can imagine (that the players are motivated). We are ready and good to go,” said the captain.

Polokwane go to the game seated in eighth place on the PSL log, after inconsistent results by the team in recent matches.

In their most recent match, Polokwane lost 3-1 to Maritzburg United at the Harry Gwala Stadium on February 08, while a match prior to that ended in a 3-3 draw against log leaders Bidvest Wits.

Meanwhile, Polokwane’s leading striker Rodney Ramagalela remains on the sidelines, after being frozen out by the club since he signed a pre-contract with Highlands Park.
