Polokwane City Set For Three Week Break

News filtering through to the Siya crew's desk is that Polokwane City will get a break to rest for three weeks following their play-offs matches.

Rise and Shine finished as number 15 on the PSL table at the end of last season, and were then drawn to contest the play-offs against Black Leopards and Milano United. The PSL rookies won three of their games and managed to save their PSL status.

Patrick Baloyi, Rise and Shine's PRO, revealed that the club will rest for three weeks and report for pre-season at the end of this month.

"Our players deserve a break because they had a long season and it's unfortunate to have finished as number 15. We could've done better but it's part of football. We signed a two-year contract with the coach and he's going nowhere. We have faith in him and in our players. We aim to retain them because we need to build from what we have next season."

"We didn't want to keep or begin negotiating with the players as we were not sure about our status. We're now safe and we'll start negotiations with the players. They're still keen to play for Polokwane City and we'd like to keep them including those on loan," said Baloyi.
