Polokwane City have tabled a two-year offer for former Platinum Stars defender, Benson Mhlongo.
As previously reported by the crew, Mayanga, was linked to PSL returnees, Chippa United, however the deal seems to have hit a snag.
Nonetheless, last season's rookies seem to be front-runners for the players' signature with the crew reporting last week that, Mhlongo, was close to signing for the Polokwane-based outfit, however, it turned out that there were finer details to be ironed out.
Sources within the Rise and Shine camp reveal that Mayanga is set to sign on the dotted line as the club looks to strengthen the side prior to the 2014/15 season and to avoid the play-offs.
According to the Alexandra-born giant defender, the move is still not finalised yet, and declined to comment further.
"There's nothing finalised as yet regarding the move to City. I can tell you that I've not finalised anything yet in terms of my future. I still want to play football and I can't divulge a lot so far," said the 34-year-old.
Mhlongo parted ways with Dikwena after joining them in 2012, where he played a pivotal role in their MTN8 and Telkom Knockout Cup glory last season. Nevertheless, the Rustenburg-based club released him after they opted against renewing his contract.
