Following their 3-0 drubbing of the University of Pretoria at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday, Polokwane City have leaped from position 14 to 10 on the PSL standings.
Three first-half goals by Puleng Tlolane, Essau Kanyenda and Botswana player Galabgwe Moyana, ensured the home side claimed all maximum points.
'Rise and Shine's Media and Liaison, Patrick Baloyi, told the Siya crew that credit must go to the players and the win has lifted their morale ahead of their game against Kaizer Chiefs on Wednesday night at FNB stadium.
“Obviously the win has made a huge difference in the team as a whole. Winning at home is always our priority and the efforts of the boys have been rewarded. I want to credit the players for their fighting spirit. We have a crucial encounter against Chiefs and yesterday’s win has motivated us to go and fight.
“We lost to them in the Telkom Knockout but that’s not going to stop us from fighting for the three points. This will be a different game as it is a league game,” said Baloyi.
The PSL rookies will be without Sifiso Mbhele, who is out for four weeks with a knee injury.
