Polokwane City Midfielder Facing Uncertain Future
A Polokwane City player is facing an uncertain future at the Limpopo-based club.
With the 2017/18 Absa Premiership in its second half, the Siya crew has been alerted to the news of possible exit for midfielder Nazier Jacobs from Rise and Shine.
The contract of the 27-year-old player at the club is set to expire in June, as reported in the latest edition of Soccer Laduma, issue 1057.
The player has seen very little game-time at the club this season. Jacobs’ representative, Ashley Rasool of Lion Sports Management, has confirmed latest developments regarding the player.
“As things currently stand, Nazier is fully fit and raring to go... been fit for a while now and waiting patiently for his chance.
“Does he have a future at Polokwane? Who knows, we’ll review his situation with the club end of the season. His contract with the club concludes in June 2018, (and) a player of his calibre needs to be playing, so naturally game-time will play a deciding role when we sit and plot his next move. Sitting idle is not an option,” explained Rasool.
Jacobs’ professional career was hindered in 2016 after being involved in a motor vehicle accident.
As it stands, the player will be in a position to move on a free at the end of the campaign, unless City opts to tie him down on a new contract. He has been with City since 2015, having joined the club from Milano United.
