Following their victory over fellow Limpopo side, Black Leopards, and securing their PSL status, Polokwane City have declared their intention to beef up their current squad to ensure they do not find themselves in a similar position at the end of the upcoming season.
Rise and Shine Public Relations Officer, Patrick Baloyi, confirmed to the Siya crew that they are currently shopping for players in key positions to increase the size of the squad, and plan on retaining the players who have been on-loan at the club.
“We have learnt from our mistakes and we have been given a second chance to correct ourselves. We will definitely be looking at bringing in new players to improve the squad and strengthen in key areas,” announced Baloyi.
"At the beginning of last season, there were players that we let go that we shouldn’t have, but now we look towards the future. There is a strong likelihood that we will retain the players who joined us on loan last season.”
“This includes on-loan duo from Wits, Sandile Sibande and Lawrence Molekwane as well as Thabo Rakhale who’s on-loan from Orlando Pirates.”
“This players have been great for us, and we feel they can help Polokwane City to a strong finish in the upcoming season. We also want another goalkeeper. It's not that Modiri Marumo hasn't done well for us, but he needs competition," stated the City PRO.
