City: We Have To Be Smart When We Buy Players
Polokwane City identify players for next season
Polokwane City’s technical team has already identified the kind of players that need to be brought into the side for 2018/19 season.
Rise and Shine are currently in 13th spot on the league table and are fighting for a top-eight finish. Speaking to Soccer Laduma, the club’s Communications Officer, Vusi Mthimane said that the technical team had compiled the technical report highlighting the players and the areas of improvement.
“We know where we need to strengthen and know the type of players we need to bring to ensure that we are more competitive next season,” said Mthimane.

“Unlike the bigger clubs, we have to be smart when we buy players. They need to be able to gel with the current players and fit into how we do things.
“Next season we want to be more competitive and play for more. I have maintained that we have been very unlucky this season where we have played well but not been able to get the results. Hopefully, with the new players, things will change for us in the new season,” he concluded.
The highest possible amounts of points that Rise and Shine can amass should they win their remaining four league fixtures is 42 points meaning that the Limpopo side is still within a chance of making the top eight.
City next play Bidvest Wits, in what will be a tough match, as the Clever Boys are also chasing a finish inside the top eight on the league standings.
