Polokwane City Hit By Injuries

Polokwane City could be without their key men when they face Black Leopards in their PSL promotion/relegation play-off clash tonight.

Rise and Shine played to a goalless draw against Milano United last week, but Lidoda Duvha managed to get maximum points against the Cape side, registering a 2-1 win against Theo Hempe's young side.

The crew is informed that Vukile Mngqibisa, Sipho Jembula, Esau Kanyenda, Rofhiwa Tshikovhi and Vusi Mthimkulu will not be part of the team to play in the Limpopo derby.

Speaking to the crew, coach Boebie Solomons, revealed that the team is hit by injuries and it’s a concern for him.

“We have a number of injured players and I’m concerned you know, because we really need to win tonight. Mngqibisa, Jembula, Esau, Rofhiwa together with (Sipho) Jembula and Vusi Mthimkhulu. We have players, but we needed these players as they’re experienced and they know how crucial this encounter is. We will wait to see whether they pass their fitness tests."

“Our preparations are going well despite the setback due to injured members. We know Leopards will come aiming for a win after their win versus Milano. We need to win because staying in the PSL is our priority. It’s going to be a tough game I must say, the game has all the ingredients of a derby,” added Solomons.

The match gets underway at Peter Mokaba Stadium from 19:30.
