Polokwane City could escape relegation following their gutsy win against University of Pretoria on Saturday night.
If their performance is anything go by, Rise and Shine could be staying in the PSL come next season. The Boebie Solomons’ side beat Tuks 3-0 in the first round, and again they beat them 2-1 this past weekend.
Speaking to the Siya crew, the club's PRO, Patrick Baloyi, said the win has motivated the team going into Wednesday’s game against Maritzburg United.
“We’re happy for the win and it has brought a huge relief on us. The win has brought back the belief in us and especially the fact that it was our first away win in the PSL. The win says a lot about the character of the team, I’m happy we broke that bad luck. I think in the next few matches against Maritzburg United, SuperSport United, Kaizer Chiefs and Mpumalanga Black Aces, we need to continue doing our best and ensure we collect points.
“We need to be wary of Maritzburg and respect them, it’s a must win for us. They have dangerous, good players but I believe we’ve turned the corner and everything looks bright. You can see things are getting tighter and some of the teams in the relegation zone are not doing well either. We hope to get it right on Wednesday, fortunately we don’t have injuries and suspensions. The mood is high and our fight to stay up goes one,” said Baloyi.
