News making its way to the Siya crew’s desk is that Polokwane City could land the Black Leopards midfielder, Edgar Manaka.
As previously reported by the crew, the player was linked to one of the big Gauteng clubs, but it seems the Polokwane-based outfit has joined the race for the player.
The player has been the subject of transfer speculation this off-season, with various clubs keen to land him for the 2014/15 season.
It is no secret that Orlando Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns, Polokwane City, Chippa United and Free State Stars are all keen on the player. Manaka was expected to make a move to Pirates after playing for Lidoda Duvha in their last game of the PSL’s relegation/promotional play-offs against Polokwane City on June 1.
According to the club's PRO, Patrick Baloyi, the reports are just pure speculation and we don’t know where they come from.
“I don’t know where the reports come from, we have not talked to Edgar and we don’t intend to. We have some of the players that we’re looking to bring on board but Manaka is none of them. There was speculation that we’ve signed their keeper, Dino Visser and that’s not true as well,” said Baloyi.
A source close to Lidoda Duvha has revealed that the club is not aware about a number of player’s moves but will come back to the crew and clarify Manaka’s situation.
The crew will keep a close eye on the midfielder’s situation and keep you updated.
