6 Players Who Will Be Leaving Their Clubs After Saturday
Players Who Will Be Saying Goodbye To Their Clubs
With the Absa Premiership coming to an end this weekend, there are several players who will potentially be playing their last game for their clubs and making moves elsewhere when their contracts come to an end on June 30.
The final matchday will take place on Saturday, May 12, where the battle for survival in the Absa Premiership will go straight down to the final whistle, while the third position on the log will still need to be fought for.
Ajax Cape Town will be trying their best to avoid going through to the relegation play-offs; however, Polokwane City, SuperSport United and Baroka FC will have the same agenda.
Although, on the other side of things, Saturday’s encounter will be an emotional send-off for many players who will be soon saying goodbye to their respective clubs when their contract comes to an end on June 30.
Here are some of the players who will be playing their clubs:
Robyn Johannes will be playing his last game in the Cape Town City colours before completing his move to Bidvest Wits when his contract expires at the end of June.
Soon to be out of contract Asavela Mbekile and Thabo Nthethe, if given a run-out or included in the matchday squad on Saturday, will be saying goodbye to the Ka Bo Yellow fans after lifting the Absa Premiership trophy, although will only officially leave the club on June 30.
Khama Billiat, on the other hand, could still feature for Mamelodi Sundowns after Sunday in the CAF Champions League until his deal comes to an end on June 30, although may be playing his last league game for the team on Saturday, should he not put pen to paper on an extended deal with Sundowns.
Brilliant Khuzwayo may also be bidding farewell to the Kaizer Chiefs fans, with the player heavily linked with an exit following the end of his contract on June 30.
Ajax Cape Town, who are battling for survival may have several of their players saying goodbye to their fans in the Mother City. Travis Graham, who hasn’t played a single encounter this season, will see his contract come to an end on June 30, while the likes of Mosa Lebusa, Tashreeq Morris and Brandon Petersen have been linked with an exit and could make the moves away from the club in the upcoming July/August transfer window.
On the other hand, the likes of Yannick Zakri, Siyanda Zwane and Rheece Evans will return to Sundowns from their loan spell with the Urban Warriors.
However, these are just some of several players who will and could be making moves elsewhere at the end of the season and with football being unpredictable it remains to be seen whether there will be any shock transfers happening during the July/August transfer window.
