While all the talk has been on the imminent sale of Bidvest Wits, there are a few Clever Boys who have featured less prominently for the Braamfontein-based outfit this season.
Despite a gruelling schedule, which included CAF Confederations Cup duties, Gavin Hunt has relied heavily on certain members of his team, leaving others struggling for game-time.
The 55-year-old coach boasts one of the smallest squads in the league with just 26 players in his arsenal.
Yet, the four-time Absa Premiership winner has maintained the core of his team throughout the campaign, seldom making changes, while roping in a few youngsters from the reserve team.
This has seen former Orlando Pirates shot-stopper Brighton Mhlongo make just two appearances in all competitions, having fallen down the packing order behind regulars, Ricardo Goss and Brandon Peterson.
Another player who has suffered a similar fate is defender MacClive Phiri, who joined the club earlier this year. The Zimbabwean left back featured just twice since being roped in back in February.
Like Phiri, players who have featured less prominently for the Clever Boys have been new recruits like Lorenzo Gordinho as well as youth players Rowan Human and Molahlehi Khunyedi.
